This study is about how to play the Bolt by Dmitri Schostakovich, Daniel Nordbergs tambourine-etude and the snare drum part in the third movement from Scheherazade by Rimskij- Korsakov in three different ways according to Roger Carlsson (percussionist at the Gothenburg symphony orchestra), Daniel Berg (percussion soloist) and Benjamin Sandberg (author). The author records and plays all the excerpts for four other professional musicians to see which recording they preferred the most. Just as in a real audition non-percussionists are also judging the performer when applying to a percussion position. In the end the four musicians listen to the parts again with video and audio recording to see if their choice still are the same even if they can see the performer.sv
