Abstract
Abstract: This study aims to enhance our understanding of how caregivers of girls with autism perceive their relationship with primary schools. The study aims to, by providing valuable insights into how these caregivers can collaborate with schools, to take preventive measures and promote favourable conditions for girls with autism. The research questions will focus on the quality of communication between home and school, the types of support provided to the girls. By exploring these areas, I hope to contribute to a better understanding of the experiences of caregivers and improve the educational outcomes for girls with autism.
Using a phenomenological approach, this study explores how caregivers of girls with autism experience their relationship with the primary school where the girls attend. The result of the survey demonstrates that parents of girls with autism, to a significant extent, perceive that they are unable to make their voices heard with regards to the school, and that their daughters' issues are not given as much attention.
