Udda eller unik: Eller – vad är egentligen queer kultur?

Abstract

This paper seeks to analyse the publication Queer kultur published by the Swedish Arts Council, and its concept of queer. Aided by discourse analysis, it investigates further into what queer can be, in a government published material. The study finds that the concepts of queer in the publication stretches through several different levels of perspective. It mostly regards lgbtq as queer in connection with culture, but also touches on non-normative expressions. The historically important subversiveness aspect of queer does however seem to transform in the hands of the state, and a discussion is led as to whether queer as a concept can really be appropriately used for governmental purposes.
