SKAPANDET AV SAMHÄLLSGEMENSKAP En WPR-analys av Socialdemokraternas syn på segregation

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the evolution of Socialdemokraternas view on segregation during the period from 1990 until 2023. Segregation in Swedish society has in recent years increased significantly. The processes and dynamics of segregation maintain geographical, socio-economic and ethnic differences between individuals and groups. The development of segregation has negative consequences that concern many, and has recently been the focus of political debate. I have made a poststructural policy analysis using Carol Bacchis method “What's the problem represented to be?”. She builds this method on a Foucoultian inspired poststructural theory, where the aim is to seek out how a policy in itself works as a producer of a problem. The results of the study show a shift in Socialdemocraternas view on segregation, where the party places more focus on the consequences of immigration, where previously the focus was mostly on underlying causes such as socioeconomic inequality.
