Abstract

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to develop a method that includes the public's visual experiences which are usually neglected in the planning permission process. A residential facade is someone else's visual experiences and in the meeting between people and a residential facade consists of different relationships that develop emotions and memories. When a property owner allows their residential building to undergo a change, and when visible change eventually begins to be seen in the public space, people in the surroundings can notice the architectural and aesthetic change that the residential building receives. Therefore, this method development has focused on visual experiences caused by changes carried out on a residential building. In a survey carried out in this method development, has shown that there are different approaches to how changes should be adapted in an existing residential area. Some believe that the whole is important and above all adaptation of color scheme, while others believe that a property owner should have greater freedom without regulation as in a detailed plan.
