Abstract
The lack of clear distinctions between the practices and responsibilities of managers and leaders can create confusion within organizations, especially for employees. This study examines the differences between the practices of managers and leaders and their impact on organizational culture within the Swedish automotive industry. Through interviews with respondents from several companies, the analysis explored how the practices of managers and leaders influence employees motivation, efficiency and well-being. The main findings revealed that managers focus on structure, order and goal achievement through administrative tasks and vertical control. Leaders on the other hand, emphasize engagement, communication and inspiration, which are associated with transformational and situational leadership. The balance between the practices of managers and leaders influences the organizational culture.
