Abstract
This project explores the impact of furniture design in the home-lives of individuals who have transitioned from homelessness to independent housing. With an ethnographic approach, the author engages with Housing First tenants through the process of designing furniture based on their preferences. The project contemplates the right to adequate housing in relationship to a personal sense of home and proposes a role for designers within the context of Housing First.
