Through three generations of women in my family, a mental illness has been repeated. My late grandmother, my aunt, and I have all experienced the eating disorder bulimia nervosa. This essay asks the question: From the perspective of a feminist artist, what artistic methods can be applied to feminist filmmaking to explore the social conditioning producing the same psychological response in different generations of women?sv
