Den svenska oenigheten - En kvalitativ textanalys om konkurrerande ramverk i förhållande till arbetsmarknadsintegrationen av invandrare i Sverige

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the premises for the debate regarding the integration of immigrants on the Swedish labour market, and how these premises structures the debate. The results from the study using a qualitative text analysis as method and a framework theory indicates that the variation of results is possible because the frameworks used in the debate is constituted of three parts, where differences is possible within all three parts based on the actors’ ideas and interests. Two main ideas were used in the frameworks; the first that the integration is ineffective and that there is in an incompatibility between the Swedish labour market and the immigration, which results in an economic burden for the welfare state. The second that the integration is effective, the problem is the deceptive results in the debate that focus on short-term economic losses while long-term financial gains from the immigration is overlooked. Three main interests derived from the ideas; to lower the minimum wages on the labour market, that the labour marked debate needs to more utilitarian and that the Swedish welfare state is dependent on immigration and their labour market contributions to maintain its current standard.
