Det nationella arbetet med hemslöjden som näringsgren under åren 2008-2014

Abstract

The essay deals with how Swedish national authorities have treated handicraft as business during the years 2008-2014. In 2008 a report came that dealt with the difficulties the business was experiencing. This essay has through interviews with people working at the relevant authorities and reading of annual reports from Nämnden för hemslöjdsfrågor, tried to find the answer to the question: What has been done at the national level to strengthen active handcrafters in their business during the years 2008-2014? The essay found the most important work to be the one in the project “Näringskonsulent”. The essay also asks what is cultural and creative industries, how is handicraft in this context? And how does Tillväxtverket work with handicraft as a business? This question turned out to be to big cover, but the essay shows how the authorities has been work with the field.
