Abstract

This thesis investigates the impact of aid allocated to education on economic growth in Sub-Saharan Africa. Our study includes 37 countries within the region during the time period 2005-2018, with intentions to follow up on Elizabeth Asiedu’s (2014) study 1990-2004. Using trade, inflation, government consumption and corruption as explanatory variables we come to the findings that education aid has no significant impact on economic growth, which we observe as per capita GDP. Also, we examine a negative and significant effect of government consumption on economic growth in this region.
