METAPHORICAL TRANSLATIONS. Poetic Embodied Imagery in my Performative Practice

Abstract

This two-year artistic research has been an effort to unravel the way my artistic process takes place. The central goal was to explore the aspect of image-making in relation ti the production of stage images in my work. It resulted in a series of small performative and written exercises; which further developed into the final performance Silent Bodies, and an essayistic compilation of thoughts around my themes and methodologies. It is an attempt to reveal the intricacies of creation and their entanglement with the word around and within us. Workin with elements from scratch allowed me to understand my artistic signature as one marked by a metaphorical approach to the experience of life. It has also revealed my interest in accessing the personal as political, the importance of play and poetry. Additionally, the unknown, the communal, the sensorial and matter in my work.
