During this thesis the challenges of the working world were explored from the perspective of self-employed designers. Our working world is changing. Gone are the days when young professionals moved from position to position within one business during their entire working life. Nowadays we hop from workplace to workplace or decide straight away to pursue the path of self- employment. In addition, flexible work structures allow us to work from anywhere, at any time— blurring the once rigid line between professional and private life. All this makes life diverse, challenging and offers new opportunities. However it also means that we must find our own structures and draw new boundaries. How do we work? Where and when do we work? How do we separate work and private life? Do we even have to? The digital publication New Land answers these questions from the perspective of self- employed designers. It shows how people have found their own way of facing the challenges.sv
