Abstract
I Göteborg råder en omfattande bostadsbrist, exempelvis studerar 60 000 studenter i kommunen, men det finns endast 11 000 studentbostäder. Förutom långa bostadsköer har hyrorna höjts och undersökningar visar att studiemedlet ofta är för lågt för att täcka studenternas levnadskostnader. Därför syftar denna uppsats till att undersöka boendesituationen för studenter i Göteborg och identifiera vilka faktorer som påverkar nöjdhet, samt om dessa faktorer går att knyta till geografiska platser.
Tidigare studier kring studenters boendepreferenser skiljer sig åt beroende på vart studien är utförd och vilka aspekter som undersökts. Bostadens läge, tillgänglighet och standard har dock identifierats som viktiga i de flesta studier. För att undersöka hur studenter i Göteborg upplever sin boendesituation skickades en enkätundersökning ut till samtliga studenter vid CTH. Enkäten utgick från ovanstående aspekter men inkluderade även frågor om studenternas valmöjligheter och boendekostnader. Spridningen visualiserades sedan i kartor baserat på studenternas närmsta kollektivtrafikhållplats.
Resultatet visade att majoriteten som svarat på undersökningen bor i studentbostäderna runt Johanneberg och att de flesta studenterna är nöjda med sitt boende. De viktigaste faktorerna i valet av bostad var boendekostnader, följt av närhet till campus och bostadens standard. Undersökningen visade också att studenter ofta byter bostad några gånger innan de är nöjda med sitt boende. Några studenter uttryckte ett stort missnöjde med sin bostadssituation och beskrev en stress över att inte ha ett långvarigt boende eller över att behöva nöja sig med låg standard eller hyra som de inte hade råd med. Denna grupp är förhållandevis liten och inte representativ för det totala antalet studenter men ger en viktig inblick i dessa studenters upplevelser. Dessutom består denna grupp till störst del av inflyttade studenter, vilket motiverar till åtgärder som förbättrar förutsättningarna för denna grupp.

Gothenburg has an extensive housing shortage and despite a number of 60 000 students in the city, there are only 11 000 student accommodations. In addition to the lack of accessible housing, the rents have increased and an estimation shows that the average living costs of students in Gothenburg exceeds the student aid. Thus, this paper aims to investigate the housing situation of students in Gothenburg, to identify what factors influence student satisfaction and whether these factors can be linked to geographical locations.
Previous studies shows that location, accessibility and housing standard are important for student satisfaction, but the results differ slightly depending on where and how the studies have been carried out. To investigate how students in Gothenburg experience their housing situation, a survey was sent out to all students at CTH. In addition to the factors mentioned above, the survey included questions about economy, accessibility and housing standard. The answers were then mapped depending on the closest public transport stop.
The results showed that the majority of respondents resided in the student accommodation close to campus Johanneberg, and that most were satisfied with their accommodation. The most important factors for satisfaction were housing costs, followed by proximity to campus and the accommodation’s standard. The survey also showed that students often move a couple of times before they are satisfied with their accommodation. Some students expressed great dissatisfaction with their housing situation as well as stress over not having long-term accommodation. This group is relatively small and not representative of the total number of students but provides an important insight into these students' experiences. In addition, international students and students from other cities were overrepresented in this group, which motivates actions that improve the conditions for this group.
