Abstract
The purpose of this study is to learn more about the adjustments that art teachers use in their teaching practice. This is done by interviewing 5 art teachers, working in compulsory school and upper secondary school får pupils with intellectual disabilities. The research questions of the study are: “What kind of adjustments occur in the art subject?” and “How do the teachers implement them?”. The methods used are semi structured interviews and content analysis to process the material. The results of the study show that working with adjustments is a social work that is driven by a good relationship between student and teacher. Adjustments done in collaboration with the students are often more effective. Some of the participants notice a big difference in attitude amongst teachers towards working with adjustments which is described as a difficulty. The results also show that working with adjustments is something that requires flexibility and takes a lot of time.
