Iron Notes Exhibition during The Biennale arte fabbrile stia
| STIA Wool Mill Exhibition This collaborative piece by me, @tbirgersson , and @andrew_hayes_studio finally made its way to the great hall of the Biennale Arte Fabbrile Stia — part of the IronNotes Project exhibition at the historic Stia Wool Mill in Tuscany, Italy. The Biennale Arte Fabbrile Stia is one of Europe’s most renowned gatherings for contemporary blacksmithing and metal art, held in the small mountain town of Stia. The event brings together artists, makers, and researchers from across the world to celebrate the craft’s enduring vitality and explore its future in dialogue with art and design. The Iron Notes exhibition at the Stia Wool Mill continued this dialogue, transforming the industrial space into a place of reflection — where the language of iron met memory, transformation, and collaboration. Our piece, forged and fabricated together in our studios, took its place among works by international artists and students from Metal Art Sweden , EKA Tallinn, KHIO Oslo, LAB Finland´s MFA and BFA programs as well as the Iron Notes Collaborators. Standing in that magnificent hall, surrounded by the traces of centuries of making, was an unforgettable experience — the light, the materials, and the quiet presence of history itself.
