Keep in Touch- A Performance Research Exploration on the Relation Between the Body, the Screen and Touch

Abstract

My project deals with the relationship between touch, touchscreen and the body, and the way they interact with each other in order to create choreography. The text and the project were created during the time of a global pandemic, in which touching became prohibited in several contexts. This performance research is about an isolated performer that explores a renewed perspective on the body that during the pandemic was left outside of the frame, while attempting to keep in touch with people through the screen. This essay follows different phases during my creative process, from the beginning until sharing it in a form of a performance and it includes different kinds of text writing such as poems, score writing, reflective texts and essay writing.
