Staging an Experience
Abstract
Staging an Experience explores the possibilities of staging as a tool to engage the spectator, by activating the spectator. Staging is here considered as a wider concept for setting up for an experience and allowing for co-creation within the spectator. Installation art, some tools in theatre staging, and the concept of the open work of art, are discussed in part A.
Part B consists of the Artist Box “Pretext” which contains the Artist Book “on textile”, the index files cards “a proper reference list” and reproductions of drawings. The Artist Box is a form of staging offering food for thought and participation when it comes to interpretation of the art works within the project. “Pretext”, an art piece in itself, is in this paper presented through documentation photos and texts from the box
