Empowering cities of migration, new methods for citizen involvement and socio-spatial integration - Findings from the EMPOWER project
Abstract
This report presents findings from the EMPOWER research project. It provides new gender-aware insights into the integration challenges and opportunities - and housing experiences - of individuals living in three different European cities and three neighbourhoods with increasing population diversity. In doing so, the research highlights the critical importance of housing and place in integration processes and the ways in which local residents can work with those involved in the governance of neighbourhood and housing services to create appropriate and inclusive responses, and which facilitates engagement and empowerment.
