Spår av ättehögar och grifter bland granar, hallonsnår och hönsgårdar. En inventeringsjämförelse av gravfält, stensättningar och gravhögar i de två dalsländska socknarna Brålanda och Dals-Ed.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to compare the number of grave sites, barrows and stone circles in two parishes in the province of Dalsland; Brålanda and Dals-Ed.
In this paper the investigation focuses on how the number of placements of remains is described in the records of the people- and antiquities researcher Richard Dybeck and of the dean Anders Lignell. It also examines the first inventory and subsequent revisions of remains for the economic map conducted in the 1960s and 1980s.
This investigation aims to find answers about the conditions of the placement of remains in the latest inventory in the 1980s and how the type of terrain affected the preservation or disappearing of the graves.
This microhistory study reveals that the small province of Dalsland is naturally geographically divided, where the prerequisites for preserving remains have varied significantly.
