BYGGER VI FÖR FRAMTIDEN?

Abstract
Gothenburg is growing and being built, now like never before. These new constructions determine environmental performance for quite long time. Has the environmental performance been missed in the rapid production of new constructions? The theses consist of a survey of environmental performance in selected eleven new construction projects of housing in various areas of Gothenburg. The survey carried out in 2018 and it covered energy use, renewable energy sources, waste, and environmentally friendly measures when it came to transport in new construction. The result showed that the rapid development took place in an environmentally friendly way. Energy use in new construction is decreasing. Renewable energy is increasing. Regarding waste management, it could have been done better in several buildings. There were relatively few initiatives to facilitate increased cycling and electric car use. The construction sector accounts for a large part of Swedish energy use. The sector is growing. The survey showed that energy use in new construction has started to decrease. Reduced energy demand and efficiency of energy use have had an effect. Large energy gains can also be made during reconstruction, but this has not been studied in this work. Sweden is on track and will achieve the 2030 goal.
