Handbook for Systematic Literature Reviews and Document Studies in the Social Sciences
Abstract
This report aims to inspire students (and researchers) to explore the use of systematic literature reviews and document studies in their essays. The structure of the report follows a general work process for an essay employing such methods. Phases such as planning, implementation, and compilation of studies are described and examined. The report provides examples and concretizes the methodological discussions with objectives, research questions, theoretical frameworks, descriptions of results, and analyses drawn from both students' essays and the authors' own research.
An important aspect of the report is the visibility of students' own voices and opinions. Former students have been invited to reflect on their own work with systematic literature reviews or document studies. Their reflections are interwoven throughout the report but separately presented in their own chapter.
