Den nya pensionsreformens påverkan på jämställdhet - En uppsats om kvinnliga och utrikesfödda fattigpensionärer i EU:s mest jämställda land
Abstract
This bachelor thesis focuses on the latest pension reform that took place in Sweden during the beginning of the 21st century and what its effect has been on the pensions of women and
immigrants. Sweden is the prototype of the socialdemocratic welfare regim and is known for
its universal and generous welfare provisions. Welfare provision is involved in the sustenance
of gendered divisions of the labour market which in turn affect the pension levels. By looking into the guaranteed pension and its recipients this thesis will be investigating whether the pension reform has decreased the level of equality of the poor and elderly in Sweden. Using statistics and comparing Sweden’s self-image to the results, this study shows that the group that receives guaranteed pension is increasingly consisting of women and immigrants which contradicts Sweden’s agenda of equality for all.
