A documentary about Zorn's for a long time completely unknown photographs, and the complicated way from hidden compartment to late publication. An on-going enquiry through the artistic process was the ethical and esthetical challenges the work with the archive evokes. As the film is revealing the process of discovering the archive the aim also became to address the questions the images raise when disclosed in a contemporary context. In addition to his well-known extensive artistic creation in painting, Anders Zorn was also a diligent photographer in the first two decades of the 20th century. He left behind more than thousand self-made photos. Some of them being models for later work. But he also took a lot of interesting documentary studies and series of completely innovative photo experiments. The photographs have been hidden and have only recently been shown to the outside world. The director Staffan Lamm has made a close portrait of this strange relatively unknown side of Zorn's creation. That also has become an important part of his artistic creation. In addition to this new image of the artist Zorn, a personal description of the private man Anders and his complicated relationship to his wife Emma (born Lamm) is also given.
