By looking at the historical background of the region, as well as the science behind stereotypes, we investigate what these stereotypes are, why they’re so prominent, and how they are expressed and why in Ocho apellidos vascos and Ocho apellidos catalanes, two modern Spanish comedy movies which play heavily on the regional stereotypes and cultural differences in Spain with a typical Andalusian man as their protagonist.
