Abstract: Aim. The overall aim of the thesis was to study exhaustion disorder (ED) with respect to identification, characterisation and course of illness, as well as some properties of an instrument of self-rated ED (s-ED). Method. The first two studies were based on longitudinal register data of patients referred to a specialist clinic and fulfilling the criteria for ED diagnosis.
