En studie om funktionärerna på GöteborgsVarvet
Every year big events takes place in different cities, one of the largest half marathons in the world is located in Gothenburg and is called GöteborgsVarvet. These kind of events rely on volunteers to even be able to manage the pressure from the arrangement. The purpose of the study was to investigate the motivation factors among volunteers’ at GöteborgsVarvet 2012. This study is a part of a bigger project called EVINN that is an EU-financial researchproject which aims to develop arrangements. The methodology was nomothetic and 495 people answered the survey. The result shows that the functionaries find motivations from different things, internal or external. When it comes to the volunteers at GöteborgsVarvet 2012 the internal motivation factors was the most important for the employees. When it comes to education it doesn’t matter which level of degree you’ve got (compulsory school, upper secondary school, university or other education), you volunteer in the same extent. Same goes for sex, whether if you are a man or a woman you volunteer. Previous research strengthens these results that the most common factors to volunteers’ come from internal motivations.
