The Transmission of Musashi - An analysis of translation methods and differences in "The Book of Five rings"

Abstract

An analysis on the translational differences between English translations of the Japanese text Gerinsho, i.e. The Book of Five Rings. The results of the analysis show that the methods the translators employed differed regarding lexical terms, but the translations were otherwise very much alike.
