Yggdrasil: Stone & Water
Grót & Vatn
Summary
Grót & Vatn (HJF 233, Tutl 2012) - live recording at The Nordic House Tórshavn (Faroe Islands)
Description of project
Grót & Vatn (Stone & Water) was developed from an idea shared by composers Richard Nunns and Kristian Blak. The Faroe Island and New Zealand, Richard's homeland, are poles apart and very different. However, there are important common grounds within the natural environment. Both countries present many forms of stone or rock throughout their lands. Likewise with water, whitch equally interacts with stone. From this concept the piece was formed and realized by the musicians of Yggdrasil - in concert during the festival Summartónar in the Faroe Islands.
