Abstract: Introduction and aims: Autism, Asperger syndrome and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (AD/HD) are clinically defined neuropsychiatric syndromes that affect 6 to 10 per cent of all children. These common developmental disorders can be understood at different levels.
