Könsskillnader i investeringsbeteende: Riskaversion och förändrade strategier på den svenska aktiemarknaden under och efter Covid-19-pandemin
Abstract
This thesis explores gender differences in investment behavior before and after the Covid-19 pandemic, focusing on risk aversion and changes in strategies during times of economic uncertainty. The study is based on a survey of 46 women and 56 men, using self-reported data to examine differences in asset choices, diversification, and risk preferences. The results show that women were more likely than men to adopt cautious strategies after the pandemic, increasing diversification and investing in safer assets such as savings accounts. Men showed a wider range of behaviors, with some taking more risks while others reduced their exposure to volatile markets. The study also discusses psychological factors, such as risk aversion and overconfidence, that affect investment decisions. These findings help to better understand how gender and economic uncertainty influence financial decisions and provide useful insights for financial advisors and future investment planning.
