Evaluating the Strategic Alignment of Public-Private Funding with Women-Led Deep Tech Startups in Sweden

Abstract
The study aims to assess how funding aligns strategically, with women led deep tech startups in Sweden focusing on gender dynamics that influence this process. It seeks to uncover the challenges and opportunities encountered by women entrepreneurs when seeking funding and how these factors shape their investment strategies. By exploring these dynamics the study intends to offer a view of the funding landscapes impact on the growth and sustainability of women led deep tech startups in Sweden. This research is significant as it tackles the issue of gender inequality in funding within the deep tech sector. By shedding light on the hurdles and advantages faced by women entrepreneurs the study hopes to guide policy making and enhance support mechanisms to create an inclusive and supportive environment for women led startups. The insights gained may also contribute to conversations about gender equality in entrepreneurship and innovation. The study adopts a mixed method approach incorporating both quantitative research methods. Qualitative data will be collected through interviews with investors startup founders and innovation support staff. Quantitative analysis will focus on deep tech data, from EU and Swedish sources. This method allows for an examination of both anecdotes and broader patterns. The research focuses on women led deep tech startups, in Sweden looking into the experiences of entrepreneurs well as the viewpoints of investors and support groups. Possible limitations include availability and potential biases in self-reported information. The goal of this research is to advance understanding concerning the alignment of funding with gender dynamics in entrepreneurship. In terms it aims to offer suggestions for policymakers, investors and support groups to enhance the funding environment for women led startups. This could result in fairer funding practices and increased success for entrepreneurs in the deep tech field.
