Dialogic Practices - Essays within an essay on movement partnering – based on the system of contemporary Argentine Tango

Abstract
This project consists of two parts. One site-specific performance and one essayistic writing. The aim is to examine how distinct physical and postural ideas of myself influence the manner of relating to other persons dancing Tango. I study how movement qualities affect the communication and connection between two people and explore in what way dynamics of gender, ideas of power and play interact when partners move together through a vertical axis of their bodies. I use somatic and systematic principles of Contemporary Argentine Tango as the method of movement partnering to investigate the concept of resonance between people.
