KARTERING OCH ANALYS AV GLACIALA LANDFORMER I ÅNGE KOMMUN, VÄSTERNORRLAND, SVERIGE

Abstract

In this study, glacial landforms are mapped in Ånge municipality, Västernorrland county, to deepen the understandiing of the landscape’s transformation during the last ice age. Using LiDAR and GIS, a predominant NW ice flow direction is identified, with the highest concentration of glacial landforms in the NW parts of the municipality. The most common landforms are glacial lineations, eskers, ribbed moraines, and murtoos. By studying these landforms it reveales the extensive glacial shaping of the terrain.
