The Purpose of the essay is to investigate how cultural-historical values are handled, by different actors, in reuse processes when it comes to building parts and building materials. The Method is inductive where the case study consists of qualitative interviews with the actors, who work with these questions in any way today, that make up the case study. Documents and literature studies are also used to be able to place the results in a larger context such as sustainability but also to be able to perform a theoretical analysis of them. The theoretical frames of reference are used to analyze the results of the survey. The Findings are that conservators of built heritage or cultural environment specialists participate in the organized work of reuse, in order to be able to handle and consider cultural-historical values. The organizations look different and have progressed differently in their work of reuse. It is important to have a common goal and to be able to make decisions within the organization. Actors who own and manage real estate have, or see a need for, a digital system to be able to register and search for deconstructed and reused building parts and materials. The cultural-historical value is considered to be highest in the unchanged original environment or building, but even if the value decreases somewhat during deconstruction and reuse, most actors consider that the parts and materials contributes with readability of their original cultural history. A few actors believe that the cultural-historical values, when reused in a completely different context, contribute to the loss of readability and cultural- historical values.en_US
