dc.description.abstract | Climate change is steadily warming our planet and it is of utmost importance to act now to provide a sustainable planet for future generations. Taxes and laws have been shown to be effective ways to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Taxes are strongly associated with politics and ideology. This bachelor thesis aims to investigate whether climate concerns conditions in which ideology affects the acceptance of climate taxes. Previous research has mainly demonstrated how education and income have influenced, indicating that individuals' political affiliation affects an individual's attitude to climate adaptation. This thesis aims to clarify how climate anxiety conditions individuals' acceptance of climate taxes in Europe. The result shows that individuals with left-wing political values accept climate taxes to a greater extent than individuals with right-wing political values, but climate anxiety conditions this connection. The result shows that the more concerned individuals become about climate change, the easier it will be to gain acceptance for climate taxes from both the left and the right. | en |
