From the position of lector-crítico-comparador, proposed by Delfina Muschietti, this paper analyzes Alejandro Cáceres’ translations into English of the five poems The Rosary of Eros by the uruguayan poet Delmira Agustini. It is an analysis at different linguistic levels: orthographic, thematic and morphosyntactic, and with it we propose to start a discussion about these translations in relation to their critics, other translations of the poems and the concept of “literality”. Our analysis demonstrates that Cáceres’ translation, as any other translation of poetry, is a process of recontextualization that always implies a series of decisions made by the translator and therefore is a new creation.en
