The purpose with my thesis has been to increase my own understanding concerning grading of art students and the dilemmas that comes with the task. It also tries to target such concepts as "creativity" and "personal expression" through litterary studies and through interviews with two art teachers. The interviews purpose has mainly been to explain the dilemmas of these concepts since they appear in two of the criterias when grading visual art students in swedish high schools. The interviews also deal with marking an artwork, based on these concepts, when grading within the field of visual arts.
