The purpose of this essay is to examine how the trade war between EU and the US has affected Sweden. We exploit monthly trade data and a method inspired by Regression Discontinuity Design (RDD) to estimate how Sweden’s trade flows have changed due to the trade war. The results suggest that the trade flows between Sweden and the US have diminished, as well as the trade flows between Sweden and the rest of the world. In the future, more research is needed on the effects of the Covid-19-pandemic on international trade, in order to provide more reliable answers. However, this essay could be useful for future research on how Sweden and other European countries are affected by the trade war between EU and the US, as well as used as a foundation for research on resource allocation in Sweden.sv
