This essay compares the strip-club Whisper Club and the burlesque-club Crazy Horse located in Paris near the eminent street Champs-Élysées thus understanding the similarities and differences between the two phenomenon - strip and burlesque. Our aim with this research is to comprehend the cultural definition that is portrayed through the clubs based on the geographical orientation, the facade of the clubs and the reviews made by the visitors regarding the two clubs. The cause behind this examination is the preconception we had at the start of our journey, that burlesque and strip are valued in different ways and reasons. With the use of site-oriented analysis, semiotic image analysis and lastly a discourse analysis we will display how cultural capital can be a main source of power. Lastly our prejudice were validated when understanding that a difference can be found and that it is we the people who create the cultural discourses that the phenomenon are positioned in and consequently treated them as two different phenomenon.sv
