Description of project
ONGOING: Using durational strategies for deep mapping, Kerstin Bergendal publically enquires after the lived experiences of the short, but extremely intens textile boom of the small city of Ikast, in Denmark. She extracts quotes/ fragments from these dialogues, which subsequently are to be milled down into the tiling of a new public activity-park Ikast. Added in a subtle, almost invisible way, the quotes will appear as different voices, expressing a variety of viewpoints on and positions from within this historic period. Each voice will also counter-balance a proposed identity of the park, as an exclusive leisure area for privileged classes.
