The textile industry is characterised as ever changing and by short lead times. It is highly competitive, both large and small actors are involved competing in national and international markets. Today, even small textile companies with limited resources have recognised the need to analyse their value chains as well as building networks and relationships to stay competitive. The purpose of this thesis is to use the value chain model as a tool in analysing processes and activities within a textile company. To describe and identify critical indicators and changes within the value chain at a textile company. As well as analyse and discuss critical activities, which can be developed and improved in the value chain. Finally we intend to provide suggestions for improvements to the value chain in order to strengthen the competitive strategy. This thesis is based on a case study at Oscar Jacobson. By using the value chain model as a tool for analysing the company, critical indicators were identified. These indicators were used as evidence showing that the company is moving from a value chain perspective to a value creation network.swe
