Abstract: Formaldehyde is a colourless, flammable, reactive gas, which readily polymerises, and forms explosive mixtures with air and oxygen. It is used as a raw material in chemical reactions, and as an intermediate in the manufacture of numerous products. It has also a medical application as a disinfectant or preservative. Formaldehyd är en färglös, lättantändlig, reaktiv gas som lätt polymeriserar och bildar explosiva blandningar med luft och syre.
